Walking Taco Grilled Cheese
Calling all taco and grilled cheese lovers! This recipe combines the best of both worlds for a flavor explosion. We’re taking toasted whole wheat bread and stuffing it with all the delicious fixings of a walking taco – seasoned ground beef, crisp lettuce, juicy tomatoes, and melty Bongards® Pasteurized Blended Yellow Cheddar Cheese. But the secret weapon? Crunchy corn chips add a delightful textural contrast. Get ready for a fun, cheesy, and Tex-Mex inspired twist on the classic grilled cheese!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices whole wheat bread
- 4 oz. ground beef
- 1/2 Tbsp. taco seasoning
- 1/2 oz. shredded lettuce
- 1/2 oz. diced tomatoes
- 2 slices Bongards® Pasteurized Blended Yellow Cheddar Cheese
- 1 oz. corn chips
- 1 Tbsp. neutral oil
PREPARATION
- Heat oil in large pan over medium heat.
- Add ground beef, sear until browned and fully cooked, about 6-8 minutes.
- Add taco seasoning, mix well until fully combined. Remove from heat.
- Toast bread in toaster or bake on sheet pan in oven at 400 degrees, about 6-8 minutes.
- Assemble: Toast, cheddar cheese, taco meat, tomatoes, lettuce, corn chips, toast.
