Chicken Parm Sandwich

We’re taking all the flavors you love – juicy chicken, delicious Bongards® Pasteurized Blended Mozzarella Cheese or Bongards® Pasteurized Blended Provolone Cheese, all drizzled with a fragrant basil marinara sauce and piled on a fluffy garlic butter slider bun.   1. Prepare marinara sauce.
  2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  3. Place chicken on a sheet pan and bake until thoroughly heated, about 10-15 minutes.
  4. Mix together butter and granulated garlic.
  5. Assemble: Bottom bun, mozzarella or provolone cheese, grilled chicken, marinara sauce, top bun brushed with garlic butter.

Marinara Sauce

  • 1/4 C. extra-virgin olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 – 28 oz. can whole peeled Italian tomatoes
  • Pinch of kosher salt
  • Pinch of freshly ground black pepper
  • Pinch of sugar
  • 6 leaves fresh basil
  1. Heat the extra-virgin olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic cloves and cook over moderate heat, stirring occassionally, until golden, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add tomato paste and cook while stirring for 1 minute.
  4. Add whole tomatoes, crush them with back of spoon.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Stir in sugar and basil, bring to a boil.
  7. Simmer over low heat, stirring occassionally, until sauce has thickened and reduced to 3 cups, about 30 minutes.
  8. Discard basil leaves.
